Dear YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Bin Ibrahim,

RE: Urgent Call for a Transparent and Thorough Investigation into the Death of Lim Ju Vynn

I hope this letter finds you in good health.

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the tragic and suspicious death of Lim Ju Vynn, a dedicated civil servant who served as a Customs Arbitration Officer at the Ministry of Finance and previously as a Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Attorney General’s Chambers.

According to media reports, Lim’s body was discovered in his office at the Ministry of Finance, Putrajaya, with his neck and feet bound by cable ties. It is believed that he had been deceased for several days before being found.

While the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has classified the case as a “sudden death” and attributed the cause of death to “compression of the neck due to ligature strangulation,” the circumstances surrounding his death raise serious questions. The fact that such an incident occurred within a high-security government building is deeply troubling and warrants a more thorough and transparent investigation.

The classification of this case as a “sudden death” has sparked widespread public concern and skepticism. Many find it difficult to reconcile the physical evidence—such as the bound limbs and the location of the body—with the conclusion that this was a natural or unexplained death. This has led to growing doubts about the credibility of the investigation and fears that critical details may be overlooked.

The public’s confidence in our institutions is at stake. A prompt, impartial, and comprehensive investigation is essential to address these concerns and ensure that justice is served. I respectfully urge your office to intervene and mandate an independent and transparent inquiry into this matter. Every aspect of this case must be rigorously examined, and no individual or institution should be exempt from scrutiny.

The family of Lim Ju Vynn, as well as the Malaysian public, deserve clarity and accountability. I trust that under your leadership, the principles of justice, transparency, and the rule of law will be upheld.

Thank you for your attention to this pressing matter. I remain hopeful that swift action will be taken to restore public trust and ensure that the truth is uncovered.

Yours faithfully,
