PKR believes it would be challenging working with Warisan in the next state election!

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has expressed strong disagreement with Umno strongman Bung Moktar Radin's recent statement suggesting that the Barisan Nasional (BN)-Pakatan Harapan (PH) partnership was the best option for the upcoming 17th Sabah state elections.

“I am of the view that his (Bung’s) statement also shows Umno and BN have lost confidence in their alliance with Warisan,” said Razeef Rakimin, Deputy Information Chief of PKR, in a statement, on 21 July.

Razeef highlighted that Umno's grassroots have previously voiced discomfort with their collaboration with Warisan, describing its leaders as arrogant.

He argued that this arrogance contributed to the fall of the Sabah government in the 16th state election after just 28 months in power and nearly led to their downfall in GE-15.

He also supported the stance of Datuk Christina Liew, Chairperson of PH Sabah, who stated that decisions regarding election alliances should only be finalised after the dissolution of the State Assembly.

"PH Sabah will undoubtedly choose the side offering the best deal for the coalition.

However, past bitter experiences with Warisan make such a partnership challenging,” he added.
