By 1870/1, it was estimated that in Perak and Selangor respectively, taken as a whole, Chinese inhabitants already outnumbered the Malays. Even in Pahang in the 1830s, it was estimated that there were around 12,000 Chinese .....

The other day, as I brought a group of Indonesian friends to visit Kuala Lumpur by train, I explained to them that KTM stood for Keretapi Tanah Melayu. They were quite amused by the term Tanah Melayu.......

 The finite human mind can’t be expected to fully grasp the infinite even if we are to name it God or Allah. And the more special our God is, the more special is our love and hate isolating us from adherents of other faiths.
