perthMalaysia’s national conscience is stirring and the most forbearing of its citizens are not reluctant to openly support Bersih as evidenced by the cross-section of Malaysians who took part in its July 9 event despite the government’s clamp down.

voting-ballotThe truth, however, is that Malaysia has never been a genuine democracy and even at the best of times, it was a ‘guided democracy’. Still in the country’s formative years the standard of politics had not descended to today’s abysmal level.

Islam is under siege from within, not from without. Its greatest threat is from Muslims who do evil and act unjustly against others and its own teachings and our sense of moral decency and conscience.

adultThere is expose and there is conspiracy. They are worlds apart. One has the aim of protecting public interest. The other has the motive of furthering vested political interests, often sinister.
