the bottomline is that land alienation and land dealings are big business running to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars, and the gatekeepers are the civil servants and politicians.

For us to be jealous of Singapore’s beaches created out of Malaysian sand is plain stupidity just as it is stupid for Singaporeans to want to see the Iskandar Development fail. The fact is that economic exchange is in the interest of both countries.

Is this policy decision restricting hill development to below the 250 feet level the appropriate one to benefit the state and the people? In my view this policy needs to be reconsidered.
A revisit of this white elephant project is necessary to generate a larger public discourse especially amongst taxpayers who should be more concerned as to where all the tax money they’ve been paying has gone to.
