We have been going backwards in our education standards so much so that a comparison of PISA scores shows that 15 year olds in Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong and Shanghai are performing as though they have had three or more years of schooling than Malaysians of the same age.

The study by two academics – from UM and UKM – examining hiring trends should be complemented by a similar examination of the employment patterns in the civil service, Petronas and GLCs to provide a national picture of who are being employed by whom.
I wish to point out that building the Sultan Azlan Shah dam across Sungai Ulu Kinta was not the right thing to do.
The first step to make Petronas more transparent and accountable is to open up its account books and to investigate the allegations made by Jeffrey Kittingan that Petronas oil is not sold directly to the world market but funnelled through selected option holders.
